1st Impressions: Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Palette = Naked 3 Dupe

My brother just came back from the UK :D
And he brought with him something I asked him to order while he was there on holiday...

Makeup Revolution 's dupe for Urban Decay's Naked 3!
It's called Iconic 3 and it's £4!

Iconic 3

I was honestly undecided about getting N3 or not...it's like BND80-100, depending on where you get it (yes, I have a sister in the US but I don't think I'd gamble on something that costs more than BND50 that I can't swatch myself) so when I started seeing this palette pop up on my Bloglovin' (well, one post) I decided to get it.

I like how the shadows look like, looks classy. Looks similar to the layout of the Naked palettes, so it's much more appealing to me. The eyeshadows are 14g!! MUA's are 9.4g.

*goes to UD's site*

HOLD ON.

Do you see what I'm seeing?

Seriously?

They increased the price?

AGAIN?

*edit: went to Ulta's site and saw that it's still the same price there*

It was USD52 for a while (they used to be USD50 if you still remember), and now it's USD54?

Uh. Nope.

No way. Not even gonna think about it anymore.
I'm no longer curious.

I hate the packaging anyway :/

Anyway~

Here's some quick swatches of the Iconic 3!

You can zoom in if you wanna see clearer :)
I swatched the dupe for Strange and Nooner twice, but the rest are one swatch. Without primer too, btw.

I am in LOVE with Trick's dupe. I think some colours are not so similar but I can work with this.

I am happy with this!

AND IT'S AFFORDABLE!! ARGHHHH!

SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT MORE EVEN THOUGH I DON'T NEED IT.

Phew.

I'm half angry at the price increase (yet again) considering a lot of complaints are made about the quality being not up to par with the old palettes.

Anyway, happy shopping ;D

Here's the link to their FB and the palette:

I will do an in-depth review soon I guess :3

I'm really excited that my expectations are met, especially since I could only rely on bloggers.

'til then, take care!

Review: CLIO Gelpresso Pencil Gel Liner Mini

Hi guys, this has been in my backlog for a while lol. Since September! This was originally a swatch post but I guess now I have enough time for my thoughts on it.

I seriously still find it demotivating to have such poor quality pics on my blog :x I'm not gonna lie.
But anyway, I tried my best to show these swatches as true to colour as possible.
These pics were taken under artificial room lighting, so it's a bit dim.

CLIO Gelpresso Pencil Gel Liner Mini
PRODUCT INFORMATION
It is filled with sliding gel texture in the retractable mini auto pencil. It glides on smoothly and gives high-defined eye line. Creamy and melting formula stays put all day long without smudge.
These five eyeliners are housed in a sturdy tin case, and contains 3x45mm (what.) of product each. Try as I might, I couldn't find the grammes. These eyeliners are about 10cm long so it's not that big. These are basically the mini versions of the hyped up Gelpresso liners. The products are made in Korea and costs about BND31 (I think so) at Guardian. They're also found at Paloma.

Back of tin.
I bought mine a while back in KL at SaSa. They're normally priced at RM79.90.

While I was there, I remember trying to swatch the Gelpressos but the testers were horrible!!
So I bought this impulsively.

Inside the tin.
I thought the packaging was kinda cute and cool. It's simply one of those twist-up liners that are quite nice to use when you want precision, because they're a lot thinner and you don't need to sharpen them. Another thing I love is that it actually twists back down FULLY, so that means you won't end up breaking it!

Comparing them to the full-sized, I guess I didn't really notice much of a difference other than it not being long-lasting compared to my HG gel pencil liners from TheFaceShop. I was quite disappointed when it rubbed off of my arm when I swatched the full-sized liners in stores.

Weirdly, these didn't smudge on my hand.

They're not that budge-free but on the eyes, I thought it worked out okay.
I haven't cried with these though so I can't really say much when it comes to that!

Amount of product you'd get.
There are two other new varieties of these mini tin liners I believe.

Same tin size, slightly different different colours.

It was very hard to really capture the eyeliner swatches but I tried my best. Colours might differ depending on your screen. I'm using my Macbook Pro and my crappy camera from my Galaxy S2.

Swatches (without flash)
1. Beige Shine
2. Golden Khaki
3. Star Purple
4. Dark Choco
5. Golden Black

I don't really use these as much other than Beige Shine because I have a lot of other black and brown eyeliners and I rarely use purple. I think the Golden Khaki is also a good alternate to use, so maybe I'll try and use it more often.

They're not the smoothest eyeliners but hey, my HG liners aren't smooth. That's why they're quite budge-proof. The colours I think, aren't that intense as I hoped it'd be, Urban Decays are more intense than these. Urban Decay smudges faster than these though.

I believe the full-sized liners retail at BND19.90, so it's quite pricy. The good thing about Clio is that they have more variety than TheFaceShop, but they're a lot pricier and the longevity is not as good.

Sorry for the rambling x.x

---

PROS:

-Locally available.
-Smudge-proof (at least the mini ones are)
-Waterproof
-Travel-friendly.
-Has a variety of shades to try out.
-Wearable colours.
-Sturdy packaging (both tin and liners)
-Good amount of product.

CONS:

-Quite expensive.
-Eyeliners aren't that intense in colour.
- I have a feeling this might have caused bumps on my lower lash line.

Rating: 4/5 (They're good!)

Will I buy this again?

If the colours are something I don't have I guess. But for the price, I'll think twice.

Do I recommend this?

I think the mini ones are quite good compared to the full-sized versions. Get it on a sale or something because it's quite pricy. Better yet, maybe try out TheFaceShop ones?

Where can you find this?

You can find them locally at Guardian and Paloma.
International buyers can also easily get them online.

---

I hope you guys find this helpful.
The swatches and pictures aren't the best, I'm so sorry x.x

Tell me in the comments if you've tried Clio products, do you like them?
Do you think they're not worth the hype?
Share!

I'd love to know!

'til then, take care!

Technic ADORN Makeup Set Swatch & Review

Decided to do a swatch today lol, and a small review.

I had a small review of this, here. Quite pigmented? Orly? What was I thinking.

These aren't the most sought after palette but I think it's decent, for what it is.
If you know how to work with it.
I mean, I made a slight dent on one of the colours, though that doesn't mean I love it.

It's okay for what it is.

Okay, here are the swatches:

Technic ADORN Palette
Smoky Eye Look? LOL I think so.
However, the swatches....are a let down. From L to R: Lip glosses, eyeshadows and lastly the blush.
You know, I thought I'd love this palette a lot...I do, but it's a let down.
I thought the black would be darker and more pigmented but it looks like gray!!!

The worst pigment in this palette goes to the peachy one next to the green. Oh God, It sucks. Can't do anything with it. It barely shows up on the swatch, no matter how many times I tried to swatch it!!

The one I made the most dent out of is the first eyeshadow, which is a shimmery cream. I usually use it all over my lids, then I use the next two colours for a gradient effect. It really changes the shapes of my eyes.  Because of the size, it's my go-to palette, however, that doesn't mean it has much quality.

I have a 120 palette and even though I'd love to use it, it's such a hassle.

So basically, from this palette, I only use the first four colours on the top.
I barely use the blush and the glosses.

I might try use the frosty green one because it does look pretty.

But I don't usually use blue, so I might forget about that.

I don't know the price of this palette but my sis got this for me from the UK.

If you live there and thought about picking this up, think about what you need.
Would you use the colours?

Are you fine with poor pigmentation?
If you're like me, you wouldn't mind much.

So, I think it's an okay palette to own.
I might dent the first four a bit more before moving on.

I should try use the glosses here too.

Would I recommend?
Meh.

It's okay for neutrals I guess.
Plus it's quite small and can fit in your bag, and you can apply the shadows with your fingers and it's still fine!

For the smoky look, hmmmmm.

Okay, 'til then!!

Sasatinnie Creamy Satin Blusher Swatch in Sugar Rose

Sorry, no review of the Sasatinnie mascara yet. So instead, to fulfill my own curiosity, I decided to swatch the beautiful cream blush I got from buying the Sasatinnie BB Cream.

It's the Sasatinnie Creamy Satin Blusher in Sugar Rose!!!

As you may know, with my blemished skin right now, I can hardly wear any blush. Let alone this beautiful one. I have never liked a colour as much as I love this, and it saddens me that I can't wear it just yet. I might let my mom use it maybe.

Here are some photos and...poor swatches lol.

Such a cute simple box.
03 Sugar Rose (such a lovely name)
Can't stop saying how cute it is!!!

See how lovely it is?? Oh, one thing, the casing is a BIT flimsy. It feels like it can break easily.
This is the back of the case. Classy.
That's how it looks like on the finger.
How it looks like unblended.
Blended. Not too harsh, right?
For me,  it reminds me of a rosy apple. I dunno why. It looks kinda neon unblended, but after you blend it, it sheers out into a nice rosy flush. It doesn't dry matte. It has some shimmers in it. Makes me want to work hard on fixing my cheeks even more.

I rarely blush (happens sometimes only) so having a blush on really helps LOL.

But again, I rarely wear blush and I'm not really good at it.

However, this is beautiful and I really want to try it out.

If I like this, I might try get more colours :)

LOL

Hope this is helpful!!

'til then!
