Back From KK and SJ's Birthday!

So, yeah, I'm back.
But I'm not in the mood to write a lot right now. I'm prepping for my New Year's Giveaway~

So yeah, I got a lot of things from KK. Some gifts for people, a sad gift for someone who will never get it and of course, some things for myself.

The some things for myself....that, THAT's the dangerous thing. I might do a full haul maybe later but I'm going away to Empire for a short getaway. I dunno what I'll do there. I don't bowl much, I don't really swim....maybe just eat and watch a movie. Or just take a nice bubble bath.

So yeah, basically, a day after getting back, I was invited to a birthday lunch lol. A last minute one too. It was on the 27th.

It was for Suok Jiuan (SJ)' 19th Birthday. We had the lunch at Sawadee, a Thai Restaurant close to The Mall. Waiting for us were two of her friends, Jo(sp?) and.....uh, I forgot your name, cool dude Dx I'll just call you "Emmerson" XD

I thought it was "Pay For Yourself" kind of thing so I ordered a dessert and a pineapple shake Dx (SORRY SJ!!!)

....Red Ruby was it? It was good either way.

I'm not used to the whole "Birthday Person Pays For The Food" thing. Really lol. My family doesn't have that tradition.

The birthday girl chose the meal :3 it was uh, how do you say? I dunno how to explain it but we each get a plate of rice and tom yam soup and she ordered four dishes to eat the rice with.

The food she chose was yummilicious like WTFSOGOOD Dx I've always liked Thai Food but this was sooooo good. My appetite was huge.

It was so good I didn't get to take a photo of it LOL.

The only thing that was so-so was the squid one I think but it was still palatable.

And then~ Birthday music started playing and I was shocked. LOL. SJ was shocked too!
Apparently Jo and "Emmerson" had macarons as a substitute for a cake!

Each macaron had a candle from it.
I immediately knew it was from The Colony lol.

Then comes the fun part. I would post a video but I'm tired right now LOL.

Basically, every time she blew the candle, it rekindled. LIKE WHAT.

I thought it was my eyes that were deceiving me.

IT FRIGGIN' REKINDLED EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!

Jo started to help her blow the candles but to no avail lol.

So in the end, they requested for a bowl of water to put the candles in.

And believe me when I say this, one of them was actually still burning in the water O.O

I hope no one pranks me with these candles!!

It was a nice occasion. I really enjoyed myself. I was surrounded by five people who spoke a lot of Chinese but it was fine XD I wished I could have understood, of course.

I only know 'sui' which is water lol.

I should take Mandarin or something next time.

And then it was time for gift openings. This was also new to me LOL. We usually open gifts when guests leave or we're at home XD

I was nervous when she opened my gift because it started off with a bang!

The two got her a Totoro Music Box and I felt giddy watching her be all cute and hyper when she received it.

Now I know she likes Totoro, I might get her that next time lol. That or Dolly Wink XDD

I was about to get her some Dolly Wink but then I thought she already bought some. Bad move on my part lol.

I got her nail art stuff, masks and some lip products. Just very basic girly things XD;

It's nothing compared to the Totoro Music Box. It was beautiful.

Seeing someone happy makes me happy so yeah XD SJ being happy made me happy lol.

After that, I suddenly was dragged to watch a movie with Kat lol. Upside Down. It was interesting. The visuals were nice. Very nice, but the story was a bit confusing. I was sleepy from all the food I consumed, so yeah.

The visuals reminded me of Final Fantasy.

It was a romantic movie, about love and sacrifice. Kinda like a better version of Romeo and Juliet. As a literature student, I think I can analyse the movie a bit more.

I give it 7/10.

And then, I was left alone.

And I hauled.

But no, none of that. However, if you follow my Instagram you would have known what I got.

Once again I thank SJ for inviting me to lunch XD it was yummy and a good day :)

I hope all your wishes come true (I think you were partially wishing for the candles to go out lol)

New Dairy Queen Opened at Lambak!

Okay. Oops, so now you know where I live.

Anyway, this isn't an advertisement LOL I'm just so happy about the opening, I'd like to share it with you guys!

Dairy Queen, or DQ caused my fats to develop a lot in 2009.
With it being so close now, I pray it doesn't get back to that. Always, always order small unless you're gonna share it with someone ;P

What I missed taking photos of is the exterior of the place and also a corner where you can use the internet for free (I think so) with a maximum of 30 minutes. I dunno if they provide wi-fi. The computers provided are Macs btw. There are two of them. Side by side.

They have a tiny sink there :) which is nice.

Basically it seems like a nice place to hang out! If you live close by.

Oh yeah, and Pizza Hut (for takeaways and deliveries) is next to it too :) What's DQ without Pizza Hut, right?

I honestly really liked the design!

The chairs look comfy.

Unfortunately I was there only for a takeaway of one of my favourite Blizzards:

So yeah, been losing the will to blog, I have a lot in mind but too lazy to blog I guess. Feel moody here and there, unfortunately. I was gonna do a blog about how happier I am now but that's down the drain somehow.

I'm gonna go on a trip from the 21st until the 25th I think, to KK :)
I can already hear the flapping of the wings from my money~

Anyway~ Let's do a quick update before I move on to the title of the blogpost.

First thing's first:

Also sale on their Urban Decay, Sigma, TooFaced, etc. Until January 13th. I'm debating on getting the Vice Palette. SO MUCH that I sold my 120 Palette to my lil' sis for BND$7 LOL.

As much as I'd like to buy from Shop@Sarah's, the online shopper in me does know they kinda mark up the price quite high. But well, if you want to try US makeup (other than the usual drugstore ones), that's the only place for you to go :) I'll buy from them if I really can't find it online anymore I guess.

Anyway, I gave this palette to my cousin. I actually joined so she could get it. It was either her or my other friend. Decided to give it to her but I found out after that she rarely wears eyeshadow (Yes, I know you're reading dear. Wear it often!!)

This order was made during their 35% off + Free Shipping around November. It arrived in Brunei around December 1st but I only got it like, last week? I think so.

Only 4 out of these 6 are mine.

I think you can figure it out by now, what the three palettes and the three lipsticks are for.

Yes, it's for a giveaway. But I will only announce it once I get back from KK.

The one that I hauled for MYSELF:

- MUA Heaven and Earth Palette
- MUA Matte Foundation in Gentle Fawn
- MUA Lipstick in Bare
- MUA Bronzer in Shade 3

So far, I love all of them!!
I've only tried the foundation once, I don't think it contains any SPF but I might be wrong. The reason why I got the Heaven and Earth Palette is because it's really ME in a palette.

It's bronze, gold, browns, taupe and some lighter shades. Perfection for me.

The bronzer is nice, comparing it to my Holika Holika and Etude House "bronzers"/contour powder.

The Bare lipstick is....very,very nude. I look like a zombie if I don't have any makeup on, but with makeup, it's perfect.

My other order from MUA that I sent to my sis in the UK also arrived but eh, I don't wanna post the photo LOL.

I might just stock on 'em while in KK if they're cheaper there.

I love the herby smell, not so strong but effective. It's made in Thailand. The Body Shop's body butters are also made in Thailand. Go figure.

I wanted a pore tightening thing but apparently this is more of a serum than a pore tightener. We'll see how it is. I might get the pore tightening one either from Holika Holika or Etude House or somewhere. Anywhere.

Got some DIY stuff from Kim Super Save....

....and that brings us to the title of the post.

DIY DYE.

Okay, so basically nobody wanted to help me so yeah, I just went for it.

First box! Look at the unevenness!! HURRAH.

I was going for blood red but apparently it turned out more auburn than burgundy/blood red.

So I did another layer the next day, and dyed random parts of my bangs and stuff, avoiding the roots (for obvious reasons).

And here it is, with flash:

My sis called me a vampire.

It's overexposed but basically, It's got a mix of orange, red, brown and black.

Weirdly, the reddest parts are the ones that were black.

My dyed ends turned weirdly orange.

AND weirdly, I got....addicted to dyeing.

I'm easily addicted to things, hence I got another box (this time, Cherry Red) and a proper dye brush thingy.

I dunno. I really wanna go full red. I just want to. I dunno.

My maid complained that I'm changing a lot.

Fashion wise, I lost weight, started wearing contacts more often, sleeping weirdly, etc.

She said I'm not originally 'me' anymore.

Well I can't help it.

The old me was always depressed, suicidal, etc.

Does she want that?

Well she got it.

I got kind of depressed the other day.

My look yesterday night.

Is it wrong that I want to look fashionable?

It's not like guys are attracted to me anyway.

I have low self-esteem, why always bring me down?

I just wish people would just let me enjoy being someone else.

Oh yeah, I've been busy taking care of Shyla and two orphaned kittens. Well, when I wake up anyway.

She's so high-maintenance I wanna cry D: She's so picky with food.

I had high hopes for her too (man, I'm slightly tearing up) coz she reminded me of Ming Ming.

My Recent Song Covers...

Recently I felt like covering some new songs. I am working on my original stuff too but it's hard to decide which ones I really want to work with all the drafts I have. I write mostly English songs nowadays. I have some Japanese ones too but yeah, my Japanese is really rusty so yeah.

I recorded a cover of Taylor Swift's song, 'RED', last night. I empathised with my lil' sis' situation (though now it's okay) and then I started listening to the song more.

And then, I found out there's a piano version of the instrumental and I fell in love with it.

It's more mellow.

Much more emotional I guess.

And then BAM, this is what I came up with:

It's not my best vocal work (didn't warm up and stuff, but to be fair, I never warm up). I like it if the song I cover has that....raw quality. Sounds live? I guess.

This song was hard, vocal timing wise. I can't imagine covering the original version.

I love the lyrics, especially the chorus I guess:

New Banner, Shyla & Some Insta-Haul Pics!

As much as I'd like a new blog layout, I think for now this is still the best layout. Unless, you don't think so?

Anyhow, I'm sure you'd have noticed the new banner by now?
I commissioned my friend, Farah, to draw me my new banner.

I'd have done it myself but I'm out of touch with my art side and I doubt I can draw myself.

The theme of the blog banner is me and macarons. The story is that last 2 weeks, my older sis bought loads of macarons for us! I wanted to take a photoshoot with the colourful macarons but my sis was out so I got bummed.

Look at all those macarons!! A total of 12 flavours and it cost BND72 !! 

Then my friend brought about the idea of drawing the macarons. I thought I'd do it, but then I decided to ask her to do it. LOL. Why? Because I'm lazy.

No, actually, I'm a bad colorist. So yeah, I commissioned her to do it. What do you think?

Anyhow~

If you remember, a few posts ago, I said I was gonna adopt a cat named Pinky. It turned out that if I wanted to adopt her, I had to adopt her sibling, Brain, too, because they're so close. I don't have the energy to take care of two cats!! So I decided to adopt Shyla instead.

Meet Shyla!

Shyla, as the name suggests, is a shy cat. Or was a shy cat anyway!

Now, she's in heat currently and is curious about everything. I just got her approximately 9 days ago and so far, so good. She's so docile :) I love her. She kissed me on the lips the other day lol.

So yeah....the last few days, or a week ago, I hauled a lot of stuff. I went to Miri, I went to haul HolikaHolika stuff and then went overboard again with shopping D: My stuff from sasa.com also came!

I took photos with my sister's DSLR but unfortunately, she has not transferred the photos >_>

I actually booked theBalm's The Balm Jovi Palette in advance, just in case I didn't manage to get it! I'm so happy I got it! It's such a nice palette.

I also got a free clear lip gloss and a lipstick with it! Ain't that a good deal??

Since I butchered my eyebrows accidentally, I decided to get an eyebrow pencil that's slightly waterproof. I also got a Kate Eyebrow Mascara and last but not least, a nice synthetic brush nice for applying powder!

Along with SaSa, I went to TheFaceShop which was having a sale at that time.

I got myself some nailpolishes, a lip tint and decided to try out the Lip & Eye Make-up Remover too.

I didn't regret getting the Angela Aki album but the Nakashima Mika dvd was wtf >_>

I also hauled a bunch of Maybelline Baby Lips Color Lip Balm.

I bought Coral Flush in Brunei. The rest was at Watsons.

I gave away the Pink Lolita in my last giveaway and I gave away the Rose Addict to my niece :)

I myself have not tried them yet. I heard the colours are very subtle.

I might just get the complete collection (all 5 colours) for myself :D

Oh, and I also got these amazing shoes for half off!!

Unfortunately, I don't have jeans that go well with them. So far, I have to wear tights or leggings with them.

A lot of my friends said I lost weight. Well, I did but honestly, I always had the smallest legs compared to the rest of my body LOL. No, I didn't photoshop this. It's the combination of the shoes and the black tights/leggings that make me look thin. If my stomach problems didn't happen, I could have toned my legs better.

Anyway, back to Miri~

Green Tea Cheese Cake. It was so silky and smooth!

Food. I only had this and a burger from Mary Brown. To be honest, after my stomach problems, I don't eat much. Except during PMS (which is now).

Okay. Moving on.

Let's talk about Holika Holika haul!

Went out with my lenses and did my brows in a Japanese style. I did my niece's eyes because she wanted makeup but I had no time Dx

We went to Yayasan because I was craving for bibimbap!

Yummy-licious thing right here!

After that, I was tempted to get this eyeliner from TFS but in the end, I ended up buying from Holika Holika and got a membership card too!

The price made me cry but I think it's worth it!! I thought this was gonna be the last haul I did. It was, indeed. FOR NOVEMBER.

Will break this down in another post.

And the samples are skincare ones too! My face is volatile enough. I gotta be more careful, you see.

So far, I've opened one of the lip liners and the concealer.

Good news is that I am now a member :D just waiting for the member card now.

Only after buying it, I found out TSS has expiry dates on the boxes. So I checked.

And heck no.

The snail pact has expired last October!! I dunno if I can exchange it this week since I can't go to The Mall any time soon D: I mailed them though. Haven't been replied yet.

I also think I might be allergic to the BB Cream. I hope that's not the case. The BB Cream expires next year, so that's okay.

I'm kinda bummed :/ don't they check stocks? I know they were trying to clear stuff out by having a 70% off sale BUT selling expired products is wrong. Right?

I don't have swatches of the palette here but the ones I saw online are pretty :) This one is more colourful than the previous one. It has a golden yellow, orange and reddish tone that would look so beautiful as a sunset eyelook! And it also has neutral colours as well.

As for the lipstick, it's a nice buildable sheer nude that I am loving right now. It doesn't dry up the lips and is moisturizing. It has a slight fruity fragrance to it.

The two masks you will be receiving: a whitening and dead skin removing sheet mask and one is a charcoal pack which is good to deep cleanse your pores. I believe you can use it at least twice or three times, depending on how well you store it.
