Review: Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick

Hi guys, sorry I haven't kept my promises of reviews ( >_<; )
But here I am today with a review of Revlon's Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick!

Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipsticks.
I have them in the shades 002 Pink Pout, 003 Mauve it Over and 006 Really Red.
To be honest though, 'Mauve it Over' and 'Really Red' belongs to my older sister. She's the one who was like, "Here, go ahead and review them!" and I was like "Okay."

When I looked up the number of shades, I was kind of confused.
But first thing's first:

Notice anything weird in the first pic?
Can you see it?

The middle label is different than the other two.
Really Red was made in 2011 and the other two were from 2010.

HM.
I don't think it matters much.

Anyway, for the shades, I counted there to be 9 shades on the Revlon website.
But it seems like originally it had 11 shades.

Do inform me in the comments if you know anything about it.

I like how the shade names are clear here.
The packaging itself also has a clear top so you can look at it.
These stickers aren't true to life though, as they can fade with time.
These lipsticks contain 4.2g of product, and are about BND16+ at your local Guardian stores.
I don't think all shades are available locally though, because 'Nude Attitude' is missing.
I've never actually seen it. Ever.

Gorgeous Shades!
From left to right: Pink Pout, Mauve it Over, Really Red.
Anyway, what do I think of these lippies?

...I actually quite like them.

For drugstore quality, you can't go wrong with Revlon.
They have beautiful packaging, almost similar to some higher end ones and they don't look cheap.

On the lips, I don't find them drying.
Shade 003 and 006 both don't accentuate the lines and don't settle in them either, which is a huge plus.
Unfortunately, 002 kind of does. Just a little.

Before I wear these matte lipsticks though, I always condition them and make sure I don't have chapped lips. These do not hydrate, so definitely use them with a balm or top it with lipgloss (although that defeats the purpose of matte lipsticks!)

Pink Pout applies slightly patchy but it's nothing slight blending won't fix. The colour is also a bit too 'cool' on me and it's not flattering. I usually try to add another colour to make it work.

Really Red is tricky to apply, as with all red lipsticks. This colour makes my teeth look bright!

- I found Mauve it Over to be the easiest one to work with in both application and colour. It glides on well and it looks beautiful. It's like a 'my lips but better' on me. Nothing too nude.

PROS:

- Locally available.
- Has a range of colours for all skintones.
- The colours apply true to colour.
- Applies quite well, no noticeable tugging.
- Not drying.
- No crayon scent (YAY!)
- Simple, classy packaging.
- Contains more product than some high-end lipsticks.

CONS:

- Works best on exfoliated and conditioned lips.
- Some colours apply patchily.
- It's pricier compared to the US. It doesn't fall under affordable.
- Not all shades are available locally.
- Not transfer resistant.

Rating: 5/5 (Definitely one of the best matte drugstore lipsticks out there. Well, I haven't tried Maybelline's though!)

Will I buy this again?

YES! I would definitely buy Mauve it Over for myself! I am also eyeing Smoked Peach.

Do I recommend this?

If you like matte finishes, do try it out :D

Where can you buy this?

At Guardian Pharmacy, and maybe Winmark? I don't remember if they carry Revlon or some other brand. Definitely get it during a sale though ;)

Hope you find this review helpful!

Do leave a comment if you've tried this before!

'til then, take care!

Review: Holika Holika Cover & Hiding Stick Concealer

Hi everyone :)
This review is going to be about Holika Holika's Cover & Hiding Stick Concealer!

Holika Holika Cover & Hiding Stick Concealer
Product Information:
Holika Holika Cover & Hiding Stick Concealer will mask dark circles and other small blemishes visible on the skin. This concealer is perfect for hiding blemishes by blending over the imperfection into the surrounding skin tone. It is a long-lasting concealer in a creamy stick form that you twist up.
This concealer contains 3.5g of product, which means that it's a lot smaller than what the packaging looks like. It looks big, but as with other twist up products, it's really quite small. There's only TWO shades available. Unfortunately I don't remember the price of this, maybe around BND11-13, either way, I got it during a 20% sale.

I have this in Shade 2.

So, what do I think of this product?

Since I have many concealers, some are ignored and some, I reach out for a lot.
This is one of the latter ones.

I like it, but I don't love it.

Don't let this pic fool you, that's not the amount of product XD
The product suits my skin tone quite well, but weirdly enough, I always use it for under my eyes.
It doesn't really crease much as it's not that creamy, but nowadays my under eyes have been dark and dry ( ;w; )

Cute little touch.

As for the coverage, on my face it's quite okay. It's not full coverage but it's an okay medium, at least for fading scars, it works quite well. It's build-able.

It's quite orange compared to my arm.
My face is a shade or two darker than my body.
Compare the two I guess!

Concealing Power.
It covered the veins quite well but not the bumpy scar.

Hopefully that'd give you a good insight to the coverage.

The lasting power is so-so, I think it lasts quite well on my scars versus my under eyes though. It kinda fades there.

It's a passable concealer that I just happen to favour.

PROS:

- Available locally.
- Product can be sheered out or built up.
- Blends quite well.
- Long-lasting on the face.
- A little goes a long way.
- Doesn't accentuate dry patches.
- Packaging is conveniently light, something you can bring along for touching up.

CONS:

- Only two shades are available.
- It's not hydrating (obviously).
- Price is okay, but could be a lot less.
- Packaging too big compared to the product volume!

Rating: 3.5/5 (It's not my holy grail but I do reach out for it a lot)

Will I buy this again?

Not now at least, I have a lot of concealers to use up. At least I think I'll repurchase this over the Dark Circle Stealer stick fail x.x (review will come up sometime lol)

Do I recommend this?

I say swatch it if you can at the shop, and judge for yourself. Or get it during a sale?

Where can you find this?

Locally at Holika Holika branches and internationally, there's eBay and some sites specialising in Korean Cosmetics!

---

That's it for my review, if you found it helpful, that's great!

I'll try and post up more soon.
Sorry for the bad pictures x.x

'til then, take care!

-Nisah-

Sorry for the Lack of Updates...

I feel so horrible to be quite honest.
I have so many things to write about, especially reviews, but bad pictures really turn me off. Maybe tomorrow I'll borrow my sister's camera to take pics.

Wanting to do swatch posts are also hard, I have like...bad sense of colour "reading", like to check if it's true to colour or what.

They're excuses, yes, but honestly I just don't find it that fun anymore if I really wanted quality. If I wanted rambling posts, I guess I can do that.

But laugh, laugh with me. What quality? Pssh.

I do realize that I have many empties and products I'm loving a lot right now, those that are easy to review.

Like a new favourite serum, an eyeshadow palette I've been using a lot...at least favourite products I guess.

Even then I feel disheartened to do it. The least I can do is post at least 5 things before the end of the month.

Yeah, that's the goal!

Reviews, right?

( ;^\ ) I'm so sorry, yet again.

On a side note, I'm round again.

Damn.

Here's a pic of the lasagna I assembled (yes, assembled LOL)

Ugh, looking at this pic makes me want it.

I'll be fasting later so...maybe I'd make one...but making the meat sauce again---I'm not good at it.

Will be posting a review of a palette, a concealer, a serum, a lip balm and a foundation soon enough :3
Hopefully.

'til then, take care guys!

( ;w; ) Accidental Paloma Haul + Random Pics

I woke up from a bad dream today.
With bad chest pains, so I asked if we could go to The Mall.
I wanted to buy something from Paloma.

I had in mind two items: the All Round Concealer from Catrice and also essence's Longlasting Eye Pencil in black or the peachy one. I got both items. I bought the black one because they didn't have the peachy one I think. I didn't really take my time for the first round because I needed to eat.

Catrice All Round Concealer (BND5.90)
essence Longlasting Eye Pencil in 01 Black Fever (BND2.90)
I tried the concealer out a bit, first impressions weren't that perfect.
It was creamier than essence's Forget it! 3 in 1 Concealer (which I need to review) but I find it hard to build up. I only tried it on my arm though, to cover a scar.

I had this for dinner btw. My favourite Teriyaki Chicken from Hot Point
(but with a different sauce than usual)
I asked for garlic sauce!
After I finished eating, I went to the top floor Paloma because my family was busy elsewhere.
( ;^; ) I saw cute things.

So I asked dad if he could lend me money *gets shot by readers*
He knew what I was buying though.

So, I was surprised he even allowed it LOL.
He knew it was makeup.

He must have been in a good mood.

So for these items, my dad paid for it (spoiled brat, right here)

essence Hugs & Kisses Eyeshadow Palette  in 01 Love at First Sight (BND4.90)
I swear I refrained from buying this before. I was quite vulnerable due to the nightmare I had. Pink was screaming out to me.

"BUY ME. BUY ME."

"NO."

"BUY US!!!"

...and so I did.

essence Hugs & Kisses Blush in 01 Dating Prince Charming (BND3.90)
essence Hugs & Kisses Lip Scrub in 01 Be My Valentine (BND2.90)
essence Hugs & Kisses Lip Tint in 01 Sugar Baby Love (BND2.90)
I guess other than the cuteness, I was drawn to the price range too.
Because I swear, still, I refrained from this range before.

( o.o ) Pink must have an effect on me today.

The lip tint is like a more subtle hot pink, but it's almost neon!!!!

I also got these shoes!
Mint shoes.

Whaddya call these man.

MINT (with bad lighting)
This was mom's treat.

The shoes are comfy as fuck.

I also nearly bought two skirts ;w; they would have cost me BND20.
ARGH.

MONEY COME FALL DOWN PLSTHX.

Shawl Model Wannabe
I used my Theodora palette for a neutral look, with the Dolly Wink liquid liner.
I have beef with my favourite base, the essence one.
It creases whenever I use Urban Decay!! LIKE WHAT.

Granted, it did take about 5 hours to crease, but still. HOW COME.

Odd.

I used my Kate Mineral Loose Foundation and I was amazed.
I rarely use it because the powder gets everywhere BUT it's so good at oil control. Ish.

I only got oily around the 5 hour mark.
Okay, it's not amazeballs but it beats foundation and BB Cream.

I should try using a primer next time.

Anyway, random pic dump!

I tried gyaru makeup the other day :D
The lashes and the circle lenses really make the look. Plus the wig.
I also tried a Geisha/Maiko inspired look.
I really wanted to try and follow the real one but I didn't study the makeup too much.
So I'll redo this lol. I only did half of my face too.

Last week, we had three birthday cakes to eat!

First nephew's birthday cake.
Iron Man!
Happy Pill nephew's birthday cake.
Pocoyo!
 Lastly, mom's cake.
Yummy cake.
On another note, I gained back the weight I lost.
*shoots self*

So it's back to square one.

I lost motivation after a month. I was doing so good too.

A MONTH.

I'll start again. It won't be too hard.
Unfortunately my audition pics would have to be me with my fatness intact. DAMN.

I'll work out a bit before I sleep.

I need Shopaholic Rehab.

I'm feeling a bit sick again! Every time I need to record songs, I get sick. It's like a curse!
GRR.

'til then, take care.
Keep your wallets safe, because mine is crying.

Another Miri Haul (theBalm, Dolly Wink, Garnier, Books, etc.)

Should I just do a pic dump?
I'm kinda tired lol.

Anyway, I overspent a little bit than normal because some of the stuff I bought was pricier than I normally go for...in fact, I nearly indulged in a high-end foundation (Estee Lauder Doubler Wear) but I didn't!! That'd be in my wishlist.

Well, two items from theBalm already used up most of my money lol. I am so far happy with the things I got, the ones I've used already. Like, I think it's worth it.

Moving on~

From SaSa
It's hard to resist this place, really. Especially when it's the only place that sells theBalm.
I've become more wary of the things I buy from them, of course, I always ask for the SA to show me the products now lol before I buy. I do notice that no matter what, it seems like it's SO HARD for theBalm powder products to look flawless somehow.

Of course you can't tell if it's been swatched or not but sometimes, there are marks still, and it makes you go "What." but eh. The foundation is sealed inside, which is good. I still wish the powder products are sealed as well. like, after they inspect if it's broken or what, they should tape it.

Here's what I got:

1. theBalm timeBalm Foundation
2. theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer
3. Lennox Calorie Limit Tea (found out that I might be allergic to one ingredient >_>)
4. Combos Skin Pore Refining Set
5. Dolly Wink Liquid and Pencil Eyeliner
6. Prestige Primed & Ready Eye Primer

The foundation is the priciest item I got in this haul...it would have been beaten by the ELDW if I did buy it though LOL.

I got only one item from Watsons.

This thing right here.
I actually love the feeling of this scrub. On the body and on the face, it works wonders XD
Yes, it is abrasive for the face BUT I have pretty thick skin >_>

From Guardian
1. Nexcare Acne Patch x2
2. O'slee Lemon Soda Serum
3. Darlie Expert White Toothpaste
4. Garnier BB Cream

No.2-4 is mainly bought because I saw ads on it.
Yes, I fall for ads.
Damn me.

Haven't used any of them yet (except for the acne patch)

From Super Save and Cindy
Random stuff haul lol.
I needed some stuff for my bathroom.
I got some hair ties, some cheap e.l.f brush dupes...they work well btw.

Tweezers for falsies, eyelid tape (yep, for days my eyes are uneven) and a hairbrush.

The envelopes are for sending giveaway presents.
I started to force myself to draw again...so I bought some sketchbooks.
I dunno why, I have a lot at home but I did it anyway.

Sorry, trees ;-;

BOOKS.
As always, I find myself buying ViVi even though I'm not THAT into fashion :x
I got the Little Black Dress book so I can learn about making dress patterns.
A book about cats? I needed one.

That's all for my haul!
I'm pretty content with the things I got I guess lol.

'til then, take care!

Review: MUA Pro-Base Eye Primer

Hey guys :D
How've you been doing?

Have you joined my latest giveaway? It'd be lovely if you guys would join!

Anyway, let's start with the review.
I'll be reviewing Makeup Academy (MUA)'s Pro-Base Eye Primer.

MUA Pro-Base Eye Primer
Product Information:
A Professional eye primer to make your eyeshadow long lasting, smoothe out the eyelids and prevent creasing. Apply primer to eyelids before makeup application to create a more vibrant eyeshadow colour for long-lasting wear without fading or creasing
This primer contains 7.5ml of product, which is quite a lot for a primer. Product should be used up within 6 months according to the packaging (I'm guessing you can still use it, but the consistency might change). It's quite affordable at £2.50 which is around BND5 once converted. Developed in the UK.

It's really not bad if you think about it. I actually wanted to try the original primer that was cheaper and quite raved, but my mom only found this one.

The primer has a doe-foot applicator like most primers.
It has a pinky brown colour to it.
So, what do I think about this product?
I'm torn to be quite honest.

I like the application, the feel on it. It's easy to spread without tugging or pulling. It's not too oily like some other primers either...but it's not quite crease-free, like it claims.

I've read many reviews raving about the original primer (housed in a black tube) that compared it to Urban Decay's primer. It confuses me why this creased, because I've used many bases that are similar and none of them creased like this!

It creased around the 5 hour mark. Okay, maybe that's good enough for some people.

I generally have problems with creasing with cream based shadow bases, but never these kinds.

The primer is really good with making eyeshadows stick, even some glittery ones.
I tested it with the e.l.f primer and I could see that the MUA one still kept the eyeshadow pretty vibrant. It looked the same when I first applied it.

Here's a swatch test.

Used M.A.C's eyeshadow in Roustabout.
I did two swatches over each.
You could see how it looks like it's sticky and how vibrant it made the eyeshadow look.
The primer also blends transparent, like e.l.f and Urban Decay's original primer. It doesn't really even out the eyelid.

This primer gave me promise but didn't deliver creaseless-ness, which is a shame.

---

PROS:

- Affordable.
- Keeps eyeshadow vibrant for up to 7-8 hours.
- Blends easily.
- Makes eyeshadow colours pop.
- Travel-friendly.
- Generous amount of product.
- Has an applicator.

CONS:

- Only available online or at selected stores.
- Eyeshadow creased around the 4-5 hour mark.
- Some may find the applicator to not be hygienic.
- May not suit oily eyelids (I have them!)

Rating: 3.5/5 (It's good, but not great. I'd have loved it more if it didn't crease!)

Will I buy this again?

Nope. Unfortunately I have another tube. LOL. Maybe I can make it work as a primer before I use concealer on blemishes. I'll see how that goes!

Do I recommend this?

If you don't have super oily eyelids I guess. It's really good at keeping your eyeshadow vibrant, that's for sure. I don't know if they still sell the cheaper alternative though.

Where can you find this?

For international people, you can find it here.
For those in the UK, you can find it at Superdrug too.

---

As always, I hope you find this helpful.

Please, tell me, if you've tried the Pro-Base and also the original one: Which one is better??

Tell me in the comments below what you think of the primer, if you'd buy it or what.
I'd love to know.

'til then, take care!

(Belated) 50,000 Hits Giveaway :D

To celebrate the 1st of October, let's do my belated 50,000 Hits Giveaway!
I feel sooooo silly for actually getting too lazy to run a friggin' giveaway.
It's kinda bittersweet because it's gonna be the last one in a while...

Anyways, thank you for helping me reach that many hits. Sure, it's not much, but considering how I've been lazy to blog, reaching 50k was surprising.

I'll have the next giveaway once I reach 100k or have 100 followers on either Bloglovin' or the GFC circle. That'd be a long time though lol. I have time to collect money ( ;w; )

One lucky winner will get these!
Yes, only ONE winner for this one.

What you'll be winning:

- theBalm Shady Lady in 'Mischievous Marissa': I've always wanted to give this away to one lucky reader because it's my favourite shade. It's also not included in any of the Shady Lady Palettes :D (I think so lol *EDIT: I take that back, it's in a special edition palette now LOL [and apparently Vol.2 wtf lol]*) and it's a universally flattering shade. It's quite a big pan (3.4g of product)

- Tony Moly Slim Lipstick in 'Beige (BE01)': I honestly wanted to give the PK01, the same shade I have but the shop didn't carry it. I settled with this one and it should be flattering on anyone compared to the bright pink I had in mind! I really love this lipstick.

- HaruHada Bee Lovely Lip Balm: I don't like the scent myself, but once you put it on, you can't really smell it. It has cute packaging though! Best used while you're prepping your face for makeup :)

- IN2IT Waterproof Gel Liner in 'Dark Brown': I've said it in my haul before, I have too many browns. I have the black one and it's honestly a good eye liner. Doesn't tug on your eyelid, it's quite creamy. Best used smudged I believe.

- TheFaceShop Real Nature Mask in 'Pomegranate': My sis's recommendation. Brightens your face!

- AmisQue Candy Bead Collection in 'Bumblebee': A cute bracelet set that I think anyone can wear!

- Tony Moly Petit Bunny Gloss Bar in 'Juicy Apple' OR 'Juicy Orange': I have one in 'Neon Yellow'! I chose these designs because they were quite cute. Juicy Apple is the winking bunny and Juicy Orange is the angry bunny :D
